I am a lotus kid
So I watched the Republican Presidential Nomination debate on CNN tonight. At best the candidates seem interesting, but there is still no one transcendent enough to properly captivate the American public and unseat our current president, Mr. Obama. If any of you, my fellow Americans, and I'm sure there are, view politics the way that I do than I'm sure that you understand what I mean. Frankly, politics is just about winners and losers. The people want someone who can make something as boring as a foreign policy speech be delivered to them and sound like poetry to their ears. They will vote for someone who is more visible than the other candidate. All of the Republican candidates are just OK. The people vote for winners. When I watched the debate I had a difficult time envisioning any one of them defeating President Obama in a general election. On the contrary, and I think this is why so many Republican analysts appear worried, I could easily envision President Obama winning re-election against every single one of them. The problem with the GOP is that a traditional establishment Republican is incapable of winning in a general election but the only way to win the nomination is to appeal to the establishment Republicans. Sarah Palin is far too polarizing, she did not participate in the debate, I'm just trying to explain. Ron Paul, he did compete in the debate, is far too socially liberal. Herman Cain is not polished enough. Mitt Romney is too polished and as proved in the last nominating process will wilt under pressure. The rest are utterly boring. Michelle Bachmann is pretty hot, not unlike Palin, and she seems to know her shit pretty well. Unfortunately for Mrs. Bachmann the country is not yet ready for a female president. The GOP nominating field is far too flawed. Unless Rick Perry jumps in this will be a very Obama election. I'm getting pretty tired so I'll cut this short; for the record as a political analyst and a voter I am very fond of Ron Paul and Hermann Cain. I hope Rick Perry decides to run. Good night.
