"Jeremy spoke in class today"

So today marked the first day of the spring season in which my allergies seemed to get the best of me.  I believe a congratulations is in order to mother nature, hopefully tomorrow will be different.  This past weekend my brother was in town with his musical ensemble, good job little bro.  As the weather gets nicer and the allergies begin to flare up more and more it can only mean one thing; baseball season is almost here.  Recently I read an article about the Houston Astros pitching staff and I had to say it brought my hopes up  Here's the link, check it out: http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/spring2011/columns/story?columnist=crasnick_jerry&id=6224560

Congratulations to Kyle Lowry for winning the NBA's Western Conference Player of the Week.  For the past month he has been playing superb basketball and it is beginning to look like the Rockets have finally found the cornerstone type player, that this team has been desperately searching for, needed to become a title contender.  His brash on-court style has given this team a swagger and an identity.  His tenacious, ball-hawking defense combined with his ability to ferociously attack the basket while being a pass first point guard, set the tone for every game and seems to take each opponent they face by surprise.  Not to mention that he has developed a very nice three point shot this season, let us hope that this remains consistent and Kyle has truly "leveled up".

ADELMAN

http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/rumors/post/Rockets-owner-undecided-on-re-signing-Adelman?urn=nba-332626

There's still an outside chance that the Houston Rockets will make it into the playoffs. The team is in 11th place in the Western Conference but only three games behind the final playoff spot.
Whatever happens this year, it is extremely unclear what will happen next season. Head coach Rick Adelman's contract is up at season's end and Adelman, who lives in Portland, has been saying that he isn't sure if he'll retire or if he'll opt to return.
The decision may not be his to make. The Houston Chronicle reports that Rockets owner Leslie Alexander isn't chomping at the bit to get Adelman back. "At the end of the season, I'll sit down with [general manager] Daryl [Morey] and we'll talk about it," Alexander said, the Chronicle reports. "Nothing has been done yet, or thought about yet in that regard."

Cut chort from a headache

So today President Obama presented Bill Russell with the Presidential Medal of Freedom.  I don't really have much to say about it other than I thought it was pretty cool...  A few days ago I was rocking out in the car and I started pondering the bands that I believe I NEED to see live before I cease to exist, or them.  My all time favorite band is the Red Hot Chili Peppers (shout out to Marcus Spano, you got me hooked back in HS bro) and I have already seen them.  Anyways, I was pondering and then I realized that the list is ever changing as there are always new bands forming and new music being made and I am a perpetual music lover so my list was inevitably temporary.  Happy belated Valentine's Day to everyone!  I think it is a retarded holiday.  A scheme for the greeting card companies, but if you are in love then good for you, I wish you the best.  There is a certain lady in my life that I have feelings for, but it is a weird situation.  I know she cares about me and I know we both find each other attractive and we have good chemistry but we just can't seem to let ourselves fall completely in love.  Personally, I have commitment issues and I have no idea why.  At times I feel like the loneliest guy in the world, I haven't had an honestly real serious girlfriend in seven years.  It does get lonely but other times, I wouldn't have it any other way.  I fear she is the same way and we might pass up on something that is potentially great, or worse, it may have already passed us by and we only view each other as quick fixes for comfort when desired.  TTYL blog world.  I need some followers.

Maybe I should move to LA

The Houston Texans suck!  I am tired of cheering for them every year and everyone gets all excited every season and we always see the same performances.  When the trade for Matt Schaub was made a few years back I was pissed that we couldn't do better than someone's back up to be used as our starter.  I have never approved of the coaching staff.  IF you want to win then you need to bring in proven winners.  Ahh.  Houstonians need to unite and reject the mediocrity our city's sports owners try to sell us.  I haven't made a post several months but I am going to start posting more regularly because I want some fans.  Maybe we can get some good discussions going on here.  Anyways, last time, I wrote some words talking up the Houston Rockets.  Boy was that a mistake! Yao Ming gets hurt and there goes our season.  The problem with the Rockets has always been that they rely too much on their stars.  Look at the Spurs, Celtics, or Lakers, those are real teams.  Any star could go down on any of those teams, heck, they could lose two stars and they would still be playoff caliber rosters.  Right now our current starting line up looks would merely be back ups on the teams that I just listed.  Come on Mr. Morey, the Rockets were the only respectable team left in Houston. Here is some music to listen to, maybe this song will get everyone thinking:

#1

Wow. So I am now officially a blogger.  I have always snooped around on blogs and left my two cents thus initiating conversations, but now I am the point man.  Hmmmmm....what to talk about?  Well, I hope everyone has a great Labor Day weekend.  OK.  I believe Kobe Bryant is a more skilled basketball player than MJ.  Of course MJ is the GOAT but only because of his tenacity and determination.  So here is my All Time All NBA TOP 5 position players - PG - John Stockton, SG - Kobe Bryant, SF - Larry Bird, PF - Bill Russell, C - Hakeem Olajuwon.  I invite arguments.  So obviously I am a Houstonian, after this next tidbit anyways.  Are the Rockets the deepest team in the Western Conference, possibly the NBA?  I believe it is a curious question that at least deserves some debate, check out their roster  -  http://www.nba.com/rockets/roster/  -  they're two deep at every position at the very least with a healthy balance of youth and experience.  I have a very busy day ahead of me but this felt very satisfying,  I'll be back tomorrow.
